Come celebrate the spring at Forge! Learn this ancient skill typically passed on from the Matriarch of the family. All participants will bring home their own beautifully decorated egg and have the skills to pass on and enjoy with their families for years to come.

About the event

Pysanky, a revered art form dating back to the Neolithic, involves creating intricate designs on eggs using beeswax and dyes in a layered batik method. In this workshop, you will learn various techniques, explore traditional designs, and delve into the historical and cultural significance of Pysanky. All participants will bring home their own beautifully decorated egg and have the skills to pass on and enjoy with their families for years to come. This workshop is open to all skill levels, from beginners to experienced artists. All materials are provided; please bring an apron or old shirt and an egg carton for safely transporting your egg.


Experience: I've taught Ukrainian egg decorating and techniques in a variety of esteemed settings for over a decade.
